We are seeking a skilled and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the activities of cooks and kitchen staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, leadership abilities, and attention to detail to ensure the quality and presentation of food items.
Key Responsibilities:
- Culinary Skills:
- Determine food presentation and create decorative displays
- Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of food
- Prepare special meals or substitute items
- Leadership and Supervision:
- Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees
- Provide guidance and support to cooks and kitchen staff
- Communication and Teamwork:
- Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items
- Collaborate with management and other departments to achieve common goals
- Quality Control and Safety:
- Monitor food quality and notify management of any issues
- Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program and food products
- Ensure adherence to company safety and security policies and procedures
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock of kitchen supplies and food
- Notify management of any inventory issues
Required Skills:
- 4-6 years of related work experience
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food presentation
- Leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
- Attention to detail and quality control skills
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 25 pounds
