Strategy Consultants

Job Summary:

GDS is currently forming a group of strategy professionals to handle Strategy, Business Transformation, Digital Transformation, and Wavespace engagements.

Purpose of the Job:

- Skill Development (Initial 1-2 months):
 - Attend training on Business/Digital Transformation, Strategy, Wavespace, and Design Thinking.
 - Participate in wavespace orientation sessions.
 - Engage in Service Line orientation trainings to understand Business/Digital Transformation and Strategy skill needs.
 - Enhance skills in Business/Sector research, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Power BI, etc.
 - Support research, strategy, wavespace, and business/digital transformation needs.
 - Study relevant case studies to understand client engagement objectives and expectations.
 - Adopt a mindset of constant improvement and innovation.

Engagement Delivery:

- Team Participation:
 - Contribute as a team member or senior in Business/Digital Transformation, Strategy, or Wavespace engagements.
 - Actively participate in wavespace sessions for internal or external clients.
- Report Preparation:
 - Create high-quality research reports or presentations on business or sector-related topics.
 - Develop presentations summarizing key discussion points and action plans from wavespace sessions.
 - Prepare current state assessment reports and future state recommendations for business/digital transformation.
 - Draft reports on business strategies.
- Accountability:
 - Take responsibility for allocated delivery and ensure top-quality service.
 - Exhibit strong analysis, insight-building capabilities, and executive presence consistently.
 - Commit to self-learning, gaining relevant knowledge, and pursuing excellence.
 - Manage stress from tight schedules and meet delivery timelines.

Analytical/Decision-Making Responsibilities:

- Utilize research, internal EY reports, and other materials to propose future state options for client issues.
- Knowledge of Strategy and analytics tools/methodologies is preferred.
- Capability to design surveys and analyze patterns is important.
- Apply critical thinking and logical reasoning to support observations and analysis.
- Develop alternatives and suggest the best solutions to problems.
- Prepare weekly dashboards or reports to track project progress.
- Address issues proactively and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
- Work independently and within teams, including virtual teams, focusing on EY's culture and values.

Knowledge, Competency, and Skills Requirements:

- Strong research and insight-building skills.
- Interest in Management Consulting, Digital Technology, Analytics, Competitive Intelligence, and Business Operations.
- Good understanding of economics and applied mathematics.
- Proficiency in English (oral and written).
- Strong skills in PowerPoint and MS Excel; experience with analytics and visualization tools like R/Python/Alteryx/Power BI is desirable.
- Experience contributing to business decision-making and strategic planning discussions.

Supervision Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage a small team.
- Motivate team members through monitoring, coaching, counseling, and providing a positive work environment.

Other Requirements:

- Willingness to undertake short-term or long-term international travel as required.
- Role based in Kochi, India.

Job Requirements:

- Education:
 - Graduate in any stream.
 - Post-Graduation: MBA from a Tier 4 business school specialized in General Management/Strategy/Finance/Analytics.
- Experience:
 - 1-2 years’ experience in a large organization, preferably in Strategy/Business Transformation/Digital Transformation.
 - Experience in a consulting organization or professional services preferred.
 - Experience working in a cross-border, virtual environment is beneficial.
- Certification:
 - Certification in Strategic Management is desirable.
