VLSI Engineer

Job Description

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to develop VLSI systems by defining functionalities, architecture, layout, and implementation for clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct verification of module/IP functionality and provide customer support.
• Understand the module or IP architecture and create a verification environment and development plan based on Universal Verification Methodology (UVM).
• Develop test benches and write test case code for one or multiple modules.
• Write or review code as required and execute test cases, debugging them as necessary.
• Perform functional coverage analysis, document test cases including failures and debugging procedures on SharePoint, JIRA, or other platforms as directed.
• Test the entire IP functionality under regression testing and complete documentation for client publication.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems with minimal latency and maximum efficiency.
• Write scripts for the IP.
• Ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards.

Reporting & Documentation

• Provide weekly and monthly status reports to clients as required.
• Maintain documentation and create a repository of all design changes, recommendations, etc.
• Maintain time sheets for clients.
• Provide written knowledge transfer and project history.

Stakeholder Interaction

Internal Stakeholders

• Tech Lead/Architect/Product Owner: For regular reporting, updates, testing, and debugging.

External Stakeholders

• Client Technical Team (Product Owner, Engineering Manager, Scrum Master): For scripts of test cases, escalations, etc.
