Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our dynamic engineering team as a Motorcycle Fit and Finish Component Design Engineer. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge motorcycle design projects, requiring a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and effective collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conceptualization and Design

• Develop CAD models from A-surface to the final product based on styling, engineering, and project requirements.

2. CAD Modelling

• Design and engineer exterior and interior components, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and functionality.
• Utilize CAD software (preferably Creo) to create high-quality 3D models and detailed technical drawings.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and manufacturing constraints.
• Apply expertise in DFMEA, DFS, DFM, DFA, and GD&T.

3. Material Selection

• Select appropriate plastic materials considering mechanical properties, durability, and cost.
• Collaborate with material suppliers to explore new technologies and advancements.

4. Design Analysis

• Conduct feasibility studies focusing on manufacturing processes, materials, and cost-effectiveness.
• Perform basic-level simulations to validate fit and finish components for performance and safety requirements.

5. Prototyping and Testing

• Work with prototyping teams to develop physical prototypes for design validation.
• Demonstrate knowledge in various rapid prototyping methods.

6. Collaboration and Communication

• Provide updates on design progress and address feedback from cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with tooling and manufacturing teams for seamless design-to-production transitions.

7. Technical Documentation

• Create and maintain detailed technical documents, including drawings, specifications, and design analysis reports.
• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies related to fit and finish components.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–10 years of experience in motorcycle or automotive component design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (preferably Creo).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, material selection, and design principles.
• Basic understanding of technical calculations, tolerance stack-ups, and GD&T.
• Familiarity with DFMEA, DFM, DFA, testing requirements, and field failure analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for motorcycles and a strong understanding of the motorcycle industry.
