Backup Administrator

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Backup Administrator to join our team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Veritas Netbackup Backup Architecture and configuration, as well as experience with tape/media management, Linux/Unix commands, and Windows knowledge for troubleshooting backup failures.

Key Responsibilities
1. Backup Architecture and Configuration: Understand and manage Veritas Netbackup Backup Architecture and configuration.
2. Backup Job Monitoring and Management: Monitor backup jobs, restart failed backup jobs, and manage tape/media.
3. Troubleshooting: Utilize advanced Linux/Unix commands and Windows knowledge to troubleshoot backup failures.
4. Health Status Monitoring: Monitor the health status of Master Server, Media servers, and Tape Library.
5. Reporting: Provide daily backup status reports and equipment health checks.
6. Data Restoration: Restore filesystem and database data as required.
7. Policy Creation and Management: Create and manage backup policies, storage units, and volume pools.
8. Agent Installation and Management: Install and manage backup agents.
9. Tape Library Management: Manage tape libraries using web consoles.
10. Performance Tuning: Tune NetBackup to improve performance and complete backups within the backup time window.

Education and Experience
1. Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent.
2. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in backup administration, preferably with Veritas Netbackup.
