Job summary 

We are seeking an experienced Unix Administrator to join our team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Linux server clustering, Solaris, and Unix, as well as experience in managing and leading a team of Unix administrators and engineers.

Key Responsibilities
1. System Design and Implementation: Oversee the design, build, and implementation of standalone and virtual Unix and Linux servers, ensuring compliance with requirements and standards.
2. Technical Expertise: Provide L3 expertise on OS: Linux & Solaris; Cluster: VCS & RHEL Cluster, and drive P1 calls till closure, supporting 24/7 operations.
3. Team Management: Oversee a team of 20 engineers and administrators, providing performance reviews, and building, managing, and developing the team.
4. Training and Development: Ensure the team is properly trained and current on Unix product trends and innovations.
5. Vendor Management: Provide vendor management for all Unix-related vendors.
6. Roadmap Creation: Oversee the creation and maintenance of Unix-related roadmaps for hardware and software, and strategic direction.
7. SOX Controls and Audits: Oversee Unix team responsibilities for SOX controls and audits, ensuring compliance and enforcement of security, audit controls, and Unix standards.
8. Tool Management: Ensure the Unix team has proper tools like ITSM/ansible/MonIT for administration, monitoring, and reporting tasks.
9. Critical Issue Resolution: Coordinate critical issue resolution as required, and assist with providing Unix-related technologies for disaster recovery and high availability.
10. Off-Hours Work: Perform off-hours work (evening, weekend) as required by change control procedures and priorities.

   - Linux server clustering (Veritas Cluster/RHEL/SUSE/Cluster/Pacemaker Clusters)
   - Solaris and Unix
   - Experience with ITSM/ansible/MonIT tools

Education and Experience
1. Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent.
2. Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Unix administration, with at least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role.
