Postdoctoral Fellow Opportunity at Lagor Laboratory
Research Project:
- Investigate the physiological regulation of cholesterol synthesis in the intestine
- Determine how cholesterol synthesis controls intestinal stem cell proliferation
- Determine how newly synthesized cholesterol impacts cholesterol excretion
Job Requirements:
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field
- No experience required, but previous research experience with mouse models preferred
- Strong molecular biology and animal physiology skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and time management skills
Responsibilities:
- Review scientific literature and design experiments in consultation with the PI
- Perform experiments, analyze data, and interpret findings
- Present results at weekly lab meetings and draft manuscripts for publication
- Assist with other scientific projects and lab tasks as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in molecular biology, physiology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline
- Knowledge of lipid metabolism and/or intestinal stem cell biology
